Make Your Last Straw… Be Fruitful!
February 27th is #NationalStrawberryDay !
Did you know that nearly all the strawberries enjoyed in the U.S. are grown in California? All along the central and southern coast of the state, hundreds of farmers are cultivating strawberries on less than one percent of California’s farmland. Many of these farmers are second, third- and fourth-generation, making them truly part of the strawberry family.
Many have the pleasure of eating and enjoying these carefully picked berries but may not know the stories of their origin. In honor of #NationalStrawberryDay, we’ve linked some stories directly from farmers and farm workers as shared by www.californiastrawberries.com.
Meet some of the hardworking farmers from Santa Maria, Watsonville, Ventura, Orange County, and more, here: https://www.californiastrawberries.com/meet-our-farmers/
