The Food & Agriculture Association of the UN suggests 6 easy-to-follow tips to avoid food waste:
- Be realistic, and only plan out enough food for the amount of people who will be eating
- Freeze leftovers to eat on another day
- Use leftovers as the next day’s lunch or dinner
- Finish all leftovers before preparing new meals
- Allow each person to serve themselves to avoid overserving
- Donate any canned goods, dried foods, or non-perishables that you know you won’t use. Following these tips will keep you happy and fed while avoiding any wasted, uneaten food.
