There are numerous environmental conditions that not only affect the food that we grow, but that are impacted and worsened by how we are growing our food. One major condition is the amount of greenhouse gases being released into our air. While one of the main causes is pollution from cars and other vehicles, food production actually accounts for over 26% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
These emissions can fundamentally alter the species composition of natural ecosystems, reducing biodiversity and ecological resilience. At Earthmade, we are proud advocates of Biocentrism: an ethical point of view that extends inherent value to all living things, and an understanding of how the earth works, and the significance of biodiversity. Our hope is to help slow the effects of climate change from a food production standpoint.
